Resource mobilization training that happened on the 30th/July/2021

On the 30th of July the team had the privilege to train over 98 individuals from all over Africa, resource mobilization virtually. The attendees included students at various levels from diploma to Phd students from several universities like Makerere University, Mbarara university, Nkumba university , Kyambogo university to mention but a few, researchers, lecturers, and professionals from different industries. The lead fascinators were Dr. Drake Mirembe this projects PI,David Okello Kalule, A Plant breeder-Geneticist Working with Uganda National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) and the co PI and Prof. Jude Lubega , Vice chancellor of Nkumba University. Dr Kalue took the attendees through an introduction of what resource mobilisation is and went in depth to take the team through how to identify opportunities, mapping stake holder and developing a proposal winning strategy. Dr. Drake went in depth to introduce to the audience the key areas that needed focus in a grant proposal. These included proposal grounding, area of action, Value proposition, project management, risk management, sustainability of the project, Selecting the team, Logical framework of the project, budgeting, workplan setting timelines for the project and right referencing in a research proposal. Prof. Jude then took the audience through the different levels that entail Managing a winning proposal that includes Building a winning team in resource mobilization, managing the proposal writing team and managing the proposal submission. At the end of the three hour session the attendees still yearned for more and requested for another session to be organized since this was really knowledge impactful which the team is considering.
