OUR GOAL

Our goal is to be a participatory and sustainable development of high yielding stress tolerant groundnut variety with their appropriate technology dissemination packages.

WHAT WE DO

The Uganda National Groundnuts improvement programme is located at the National Semi Arid resources Research Institute, NaSARRI Serere. The Programme is mandated to take research aimed at cultivars development, maintenance and conservation through germplasm collection, characterization, evaluation, breeding, maintenance and generation of appropriate crop management technologies for sustained production now and in the future.

This Web Portal, the NARO Groundnut App and associated Dashboards are developed by the College of Computing and Information Sciences, Makerere University with Support from Makerere University Research Innovation Fund (MAK-RIF) under the project “Enhancing Groundnuts Value Chain Information Management Using the Suface Model for Improved Stakeholder Decision Making” Hosted at the College of Computing and IS with Dr. Drake Patrick Mirembe as the project PI. The project is implemented in partnership with the Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE) represented by Dr. Dick Kamuganga and Nkumba University represented by Prof. Jude Lubega
